Hello all, Happy Sukkot.
As one of the three major Jewish festivals, the Feast of Tabernacles plays an important role. In Leviticus 23:41-43 said’ ’ Live in temporary shelters for seven days: All native-born Israelites are to live in such shelters 43 so your descendants will know that I had the Israelites live in temporary shelters when I brought them out of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.’” So the Israelites would build a tent with branches, and the whole family would live in it for seven days in a row, in remembrance of God's great and rich grace.
Knowing God’s great works
From Exodus 13:21-22 ,’’By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.’’
God did hear their cry, sent Moses to lead them out of Egypt and continued to protect them from the pillar of cloud and fire, the quail and manna, the water and even the clothes and shoes. Through these, God reminds the people once again that He is Jehovah.
Remember and to be grateful
The Feast of Tabernacles is a time to remember God's work and grace again! Put aside business and worries from life for a while and remember the various favors and leadings from God. The Israelites tell stories, give thanks and continue to learn and look up in this feast. We all learn from it, meditate on what God has done in our life in the past, and ponder and praise what God has given! And through sharing testimony, let the story go on, so that people in the future will know the wonderful deeds of Jehovah and He is our God!
