每個父母都希望自己的孩子能夠成長和成熟，若孩子不成熟那將是一場災難。 希伯來書6:1告訴我們有關神對我們的期望。「所以，我們應當離開基督道理的基礎，竭力進到成熟的地步；不必再立根基，就如懊悔致死的行為、信靠神。」
從我們出生到今天，隨著年日，身心靈的成長，我們跟隨了耶穌已多少年了? 1年、2年、5年、還是已經10年呢？我們在屬靈上已有一定的成長，然後我們會看到自己的屬靈果子「就是仁愛、喜樂、和平、忍耐、恩慈、良善、信實、溫柔、節制，這樣的事沒有律法禁止。」(加拉太書5:22-23)，有這些屬靈果子證明了神已存在於我們的生命裡，我們已經成熟了，並受到聖靈的帶領和引導。
如果我們信主已經超過一年，若没有屬靈成長的跡象，那麼我們就活在敵人的欺哄下了。特別是如果我們喜歡 不閱讀聖經、不知道如何祈禱，不給予什一奉獻等等…...，即使長期以來一直被稱為「信徒」，但我們仍然信仰自己。醒來 ！改變並變得成熟！我們不能再原地踏步，仍舊被撒旦獻弄。「所以，親愛的，既然你們預先知道這事，就當防備，免得被惡人的錯謬誘惑，從自己穩定的立場上墜落。你們倒要在我們的主和救主耶穌基督的恩典和知識上有長進。願榮耀歸給他，從今直到永遠之日。阿們！」(彼後3:17-18)
請記住，我們的成熟之旅必須包括：克服生命中神所允許的障礙和挑戰。我之所以說是允許的，是因為神永遠不會讓我們經受無法克服的考驗、挑戰或問題。「你們所受的考驗無非是人所承受得了的。神是信實的，他不會讓你們遭受無法承受的考驗，在受考驗的時候，總會給你們開一條出路，讓你們能忍受得了。」(林前10:13)
神已經裝備我們，能克服生活中的任何障礙。我們唯一需要做的就是，在我們身上應用神的話語和祂的能力，在幽谷中靠主得勝。哈利路亞，讚美耶穌！
Every parent wants their children to grow and mature. If parent saw their children not maturing it would be a disaster. Hebrews 6:1 tells us a lot of what God desires for us.
“Therefore, let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,” [Hebrews 6:1].
Since the day you are born until today, that day’s and month that gone by should be the measure of your mental and physical maturity. Your physical and mental growth so must be your spiritual growth. You start counting the day you receive the Lord Jesus Christ. So how old are you now as believer? 1 year, 2 years, 5 years? 10 years ago? Then that should be you have grown spiritually.
Then you will see this fruit in you … [Galatians 5:22-23]. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” This fruit are very evidence of God’s presence in your life – you have matured and being led and guided by the Holy Spirit.
If you have been a believers for over a year and never had evidence of growth in your spiritual life – then you are living under the deception of the enemy. Specially if you are not reading your Bible, Do not know how to pray, Not giving tithing and offering, Etc. These thing are just evidence that you are still infant in your faith even though you have been long time so called “believer”. Wake up ! Change and be mature! You cannot stay in that status, or you will be played on by Satan.
“Therefore, beloved, since you already know these things, be on your guard so that you will not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure standing. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” [2Peter 3:17-18].
Remember this your journey to maturity must include, overcoming obstacle and challenges allowed by the Lord in your life. I say allowed because God never let you be in any trials, challenges or problem beyond what you cannot overcome. “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” [1Cor 10:13. ]
The truth is, God already equipped you to overcome whatever obstacles in your life. The only thing you need to do is apply the Word of God and His power in you- then see yourself over the cloud of victory. Hallelujah Jesus be praised and adore!
