Hallowed be His name

Matthew 6 :9 said “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.’’

This is a teaching from Jesus' mentality to the disciples to put God in the right place; " Hallowed be His name ", in short, to put our God in the high place. This is a direct and understandable encouragement and teaching.

Even though it was straightforward and understandable, Jesus understood that for the disciples and the people of the day, it was not easy to do ! Since there were Pharisees and scribes in the society at that time, they had different handling and views on God's words and there were all kinds of sacrificial customs circulating. We are all very much the same today and our lives are even more fascinating and pop cultures than ever before.

But God still expects people to sanctify Him and set their sights on the Kingdom of God. In the old days and now, the servants of God testify and preach about the Lord, signs and wonders and the power of prayer. There are so many people who experience that He is above thousands of names and powers, call Him the lord of lords.

Have you and I experienced such a bold statement today? Do we see God's protection, provision and guidance in us? Can we exalting the holiness and oneness of our God instead of honors and exalts what’s society and pop culture promote ? May God give us the strength and confidence to follow Him . Finally, use Romans 12:2 to encourage each other:

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.’’
