Dear Brethren

Time flies, today the world is now saying good bye to 2017 – and welcoming 2018. We’ve been hearing New Year’s prayer, blessings and wishes for few days already.

But what is the best thing to do during this New Year’s holiday besides partying, eating, and visiting friends?

I would suggest you to have a “life reflections”. This is a time to check what had happened to you in 2017, or what your accomplishments were. How do you summarise your life in 2017. Were you successful or failure, stressed or joyful?

But whatever be the result of your reflections – You should come back to God and thank Him. Because you are here today, meaning you have overcome all those testing happened in your life. And for those successful in 2017- You should thank God because you still acknowledge God and not become proud to yourself. This principle of Christian living has been laid down to us by the Lord through Apostle Paul when he wrote his letter to Philippian Church,

“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus”. (Philippians 3:13-14).

Church whatever we have accomplished and experienced for 2017 – we are still way beyond the goal that God has prepared for all of us. But the good thing about our Lord – he will not abandon us no matter what happen. His promise “

“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Heb 13:5) He will be there to provide for our things and need.

What is our assurance that the Lord will fulfil his promise? His Word once again confirms “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? (Numbers 23:19)

Church we don’t know what lies ahead of 2018. But one thing we know for sure, our God, our Father in heaven has loved you and me so much- That he choose to dwell among us – in Christ Jesus. Meaning you will not be alone, you will not be neglected, you will always be loved, care, and protected.

As you welcome 2018 – You choose to put your hope and trust in Jesus Christ for everything in your life. Then 2018 will be another exciting year for you.

Happy, Blessed and Prosperous New Year Everyone.
