Let me share to you this story of two brothers - who has been trained by their parents Adam & Eve to do something in this world according to what they like. Cain love the animals and he became a shepherd and Abel love the soil and he became a Farmer. We knew Adam and Eve disobey God once, but their love on God did not changed. They taught their sons to worship God as well.
Here comes the time of their worship. Cain being shepherd offered animals to God, and Abel who love the soil offers thing from his farm. The Lord was not pleased with Cain’s offering but was happy to receive Abel. Cain’s face was downcast and angry (Gen. 4-5). But God said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.” Gen 4:6-7.
Church what can you say about the men in the story? “The offerings of Cain and Abel were different. Cain showed a proud, unbelieving heart. Therefore, he and his offering were rejected. Abel came as a sinner, and according to God's appointment, by his sacrifice expressing humility, sincerity, and believing obedience (Heb 11:4). The end of this story was tragic, because Cain allows Satan to control him and eventually committed the first murder in the Bible.
The Bible repeatedly reminding us from Genesis to revelation – to not give sin a chance. But instead to live a holy life, to live in peace and harmony with one another, to live in love. “Therefore, do not let sin control your mortal body so that you obey its desires” Romans 6:12.
So how can we correct the wrong of Cain in the story? Let us learns from Abel’s life. He chooses to 22 “Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. (2 Tim. 2:22) Standing firm and holding on to the author and finisher of our faith The Lord Jesus Christ. Trusting on the Holy Spirit guidance and directions.
What can you say about God in the story? V6. The Lord says if you do right will you not be accepted? Meditate this scripture, “However, as it is written: "What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived" -- the things God has prepared for those who love him—1Cor. 2:9. When you gave Satan opportunity in your life, He will devour you, but when you let The Lord Jesus Christ guide and led you, He will save and bless you”.
Whom do you choose? Would you look forward obeying God in your life? Would you like to share this story to your friends and let them experience the power, mercy and grace of the Lord Jesus? I pray you will!
