Dear Brethren,

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” Colossian 3:12-14

The scripture reminds us that to attain a perfect unity in the Church and accomplished great for the Lord we should put on the virtue of love, alongside forgiveness, patience, gentleness humility kindness and compassion!

God stands and affirms the power of unity in getting things done. the Lord spoke of the power of the people of Babel saying, "Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them." (Genesis 11:6). What they planned to do was wrong. God need to stop with what they were doing, or else disaster will come.

Unity is very important in building strong and vibrant churches. Jesus in John 17 he prayed that all workers and believers be in one. Yet today the body of Christ is plagued by church splits and denomination splits all in the name of truth. Is Christ divided? No! The reality is we divide, when our focus shifted on our feelings, emotion, or in short self. When we get the real definition of the word truth in Jesus the result is unity. I believe that the truth, once centralized on the person of Jesus Christ, will bring unity and not division. The truth of God's Word should bring oneness and not categorization amongst us.

One more thing that builds us is the Love that we have for the Lord. The Lord Jesus is the Prince of peace. How can someone not have peace if Jesus was the center of his heart? Impossible right?

I pray that if you feel you are disunited with the majority; no peace and no love, you better check your heart. Who is inside your heart? Is it the Lord or yourself!
