S.P.E.C. K.- Grow your Faith

Rev. Gary Shek

“Social Distancing… To minimize the risk of COVID-19 spreading in the community, we all need to work together to intensify measures on social distancing. The measures taken by the Government to achieve this include, suspension of classes; work-from-home arrangement for some civil servants; suspension of some public services; and cancellation of Government events.

Members of the public are advised strongly to reduce social contact to protect themselves and others: stay at home as far as possible; stay away from crowded places; work from home if feasible; avoid social gatherings; do not shake hands when meeting other people; and avoid meal gatherings.

Enterprises are also appealed to make flexible work arrangement for employees to tie in with the Government strategies to fight the disease.” Quoted this from government website.

As church we have to comply to what the government requires from us. – But this does not mean that our service and worship with the Lord will stop. This is the moment to stay strong and holding on to the promises of God because he who promise is faithful. (Hebrews 10:23).

On this regard I encourage you to make a way to pastors your disciple or small groups. With technology very much available you can reach and continue to communicate with your groups, using like zoom, Whatspp, messenger or other communication platform that is free to use.

One of the ways you can do, when you have meeting with your groups online, or in person. You can talk about the preaching every Sunday. Or lead them into study any bible story – and leading them into LCQ –(life changing question), that demand action and accountability.

S.P.E.C.K. LCQ tools is very easy guide to lead your D group or SM group. Growing them in righteousness, and leading them to be disciple makers (Mt 28:19-20).

How do you use this tools S.P.E.C.K.

S-Sin.

You can ask Is there any sin to deals with or need to be avoided? “If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”(Genesis 4:7). This question is important as your main goal, is to let everyone in your D group, or SM group transformed and grow in their faith. This should be your major responsibility to everyone in your group to lead them into that direction.

P-Promise.

What promise God reminded you from the preaching, or from the bible story you read? This question lead your group to love God more and they will have a words from God they can hold on special when trials comes into their life. For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God”. (2Conrithians 1:20)

E- Example.

There any Example you need to follow? “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma”. (Ephesians 5:1-2)

C-Commands.

Is there a command you need to obey? “But Samuel replied: “Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the LORD? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.” (1 Samuel 15:22)

K- Knowledge.

What did you learn from God today that you need to put into action? “The wise prevail through great power, and those who have knowledge muster their strength.” (Proverbs 24:5).

Praying this tools help your disciple multiply and grow in faith. God bless you all. The blood of Jesus continually covers everyone in our Sunrise Christian Community and everyone in Hong Kong from covid19 in Jesus name
