Praise God we’re almost enjoying free gathering again without any restrictions. And thank God for all our D group (Disciple Group Leaders). Being faithful meeting their groups or groups using a lot of methods, to have meeting like Zoom, Messenger, WhatsApp, and WeChat too. God bless your heart.
Remember this the scriptures says Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1Cor. 15:58).
Today let me also talk to you a bit about this very important topic about accountability.
Once you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior, you need to be accountable to God first and foremost for every actions, Words, or action you do.
There 5 areas we need to be in accountability. I cannot go into details here but let me try to give you all the summary.
Personal and Social Accountability – Personal in a since that you need to take care yourself. You cannot misuse your body to do anything you wish. You cannot abuse yourself with drugs, smoking, sexual prostitution, too much drinking. Or eating unhealthy food. You are destroying your body and dishonoring God who created you. “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. 1Cor:6:19-20. You also have Social Accountability- because you need to honor others as well, as you love yourself (Matthew 22:37-39).
Making you have a good testimony to people as you confess your faith to Christ.
Spiritual Accountability – You are a disciple of Christ - you need to be accountable to find time to read your Bible, Pray, Worship, Serve, and obey God. So that you will grow spiritually. Your every Sunday preaching is not enough for you to grow. You cannot only defend on your D Group leader to feed you. The Scripture is noticeably clear “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. (2Peter 3:18)
Ministry Accountability - The meaning of ministry used in the bible means, very simply, to serve or execute the command of someone else. (Acts 6 :1-4). So what I am saying is, as believers or disciple. You are called by the Lord to serve in what ever ministry or groups you like. But not just serving, but becoming accountable to your leaders and to the people you are serving.
Person that are submitting to accountability are humble and usually teachable, and can grow faster spiritually. But those who does not like accountability – are full of pride.
God bless you all as we all be accountable first to God then to people.
