“Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people. For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.’ (Jude 3-4)
This letter could be written around A.D. 153-217. Jude sent this letter to his friends to encourage and warned them from those people that distorts the Gospel of Christ. The church has been infiltrated by pleasure loving teachers who had perverted the grace of God into a license to do immorality, live in ungodly living and lifestyle.
Our church may not have this kind of things happening “praise the Lord”, but our community is. Many cult and false religion, problems, worry, self-sufficiency and rebellion is prospering in our city. The enemy is attacking us in so many ways. I write this to urge you as chosen and dearly loved by the Lord to contend, to stay focused, stay strong, to stay hopeful, and to defend the faith that was given to you by the Lord when you believe him. “Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.” (Jude 1:21)
Hong Kong need the Children of God to rise, join hands together in reaching out the lost, and discipline the nations for Jesus. This the most important contribution you can have to our city, It does not matter where you came from. You are in Hong Kong as the time as this for a reason.
Plan to achieve something before 2020 end. Let God be glorified in your mission groups and ministry, by training everyone to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
