Discipleship and Serving

Beloved brothers and sisters of Sunrise Family, Grace and peace be multiplied to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ ! and to all our visitors joining us today a very warm welcome in name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

As we gather again this week, my heart is filled with gratitude for each of us, and for the vibrant spirit that God has cultivated within our Sunrise community. We are steadily growing in our commitment to discipleship and out joyful service within the church.

The concept of discipleship is central to our Christian faith, it is far more than simply believing in Jesus; it is about actively following Him, learning from Him, and allowing His life to transform ours. Discipleship is a journey, a commitment to learn, to serve, and to live out His teachings in every aspect of our lives. In Matthew 28:19-20, we are reminded of the Great Commission: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” This is our mission, and it begins right here in our community.

At Sunrise Church, we are a community dedicated to this journey. It involves a deep, personal relationship with Jesus and willingness to share His love with others. It requires us to grow in faith, to study His Word, and to engage in prayers. As we deepen our relationship with Christ, we naturally become more equipped to serve those around us. Every role in our church, from greeting visitors, leading worship, teaching children, to caring for those in need, is vital in building God’s kingdom here on earth.

I encourage each of you to prayerfully consider where God is calling you to serve. Your unique gifts and talents are needed to strengthen our church family and to impact our community. Serving is not just about giving time; it's about living out our faith in action, showing God’s love through hands and feet. Commitment to discipleship and service transforms us. It draws us closer to God and to one another, creating a vibrant, loving church that shines brightly in our neighborhood. We don’t serve to earn God’s love; we serve because we are already loved and transformed. As we invest in one another, our church will be healthier, more loving, and more effective in reaching this city.

Let us remember the words of Galatians 6:9; “and let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” as we commit ourselves to discipleship and service, let us support and encourage one another in this journey.

Together, we can create a vibrant community that reflects Christ’s love and compassion.
