Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. ( Matthew 7:7-8)
Over the past week in Zhuhai, We personally witnessed the truth of this scripture. A family consisting of parents and eight siblings faced an unprecedented trial. The father underwent two surgeries for pancreatic cancer, with his condition so severe that even doctors could not predict when he might be discharged.
Amid this hardship, one daughter—whose husband had just been baptized in Goshen in November—bear witness for the first fruits of her faith.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. ( Romans 8:28)
Because of their father's illness, I led the six daughters in continuous prayer for two full weeks. Initially, his condition did not improve; instead, he required multiple emergency surgeries, taking toil on everyone's anxiety. Yet we firmly believed, "Nothing is impossible with God" (Jeremiah 32:27).
The daughters prayed with even greater urgency, confessing sins and pleading for the Lord to stretch out His mighty hand to heal Dad. It was awesome that even the daughters who hadn't yet accepted the Lord experienced the power of prayer during this process.
God's promises never fail. Under His marvelous protection, Dad began to slowly recover—a healing process beyond human comprehension. This was not merely physical restoration but a spiritual awakening and renewal for the entire family. Now, five of the six daughters have committed their lives to Christ. May the Lord continue to bless this family with His mercy! Praise God!
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)
May the brothers and sisters of Sunrise also be encouraged to pray in faith—the Lord will surely watch over and protect you!
All glory and praise be to our Father in heaven, whose loving kindness endures forever! Amen.
