Dear brothers and sisters, the Sunrise Family, welcome to our service today, this is the day that the Lord has made lets rejoice in it. Today I wold like to encourage us to hold on to the faith we have in Christ Jesus.
In a world filled with uncertainty, doubt, and challenges, holding on to your faith in Christ Jesus becomes not just a personal choice but a vital necessity. Faith serves as an anchor during turbulent times, providing hope and strength when circumstances seem overwhelming. The journey of faith is often likened to walking on water—an act that requires focus, trust, and perseverance.
Faith is more than mere belief; it is an active trust in God’s promises and character. Hebrews 11:1 (NIV) defines faith as “confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” This definition highlights two critical aspects: confidence and assurance.
Matthew 14:29-30, we see Peter stepping out of the boat at Jesus’ command. Initially, he walks on water but begins to sink when he takes his eyes off Jesus. This story illustrates how easily distractions can lead us away from our faith. To hold on to our faith in Christ, we must keep our focus firmly on Him rather than the storms around us.
