"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people
for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."
(NIV, 1 Timothy 2:1-2)
Brethren, abide faithful!Walking after the Spirit, not the flesh. Godly people have the duty to intercede, but prayer is not limited to meetings. Every day, when we see the news, hear grievances, injustice, and anxieties in our hearts, is this not the time to pray? As the Bible says, "Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing." (New International Version, 1 Timothy 2:8)
.
How do we pray? According to the guidance of the Holy Spirit in our hearts and the teachings of the Bible, the following points can be used for reference:
First, pray that God will to reign. No matter how chaotic the situation is, God is still in control.
The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD is enthroned as King forever.
"The decision is announced by messengers, the holy ones declare the verdict, so that the living may know that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes and sets over them the lowliest of people." (New International Version, Psalm 29:10)
"Therefore, we should pray for those who are in power that God's will will continue to prevail in Hong Kong. In addition, before each of us makes any decision, expression, or action, we need to ask God to show us how we should respond, so that His kingdom reign in us." (New International Version, Daniel 4:17)
Secondly, we endeavor to preserve spiritual unity. In today's society, there is a pervasive atmosphere of "tearing" and lack of harmony, but the Lord's cross has destroyed enmity and accomplished harmony. The most precious thing in the family of God is unity. Even if we have different views or positions, we must bear up each other in love and try our best to keep the unity of the Spirit. Then, we give glory to God and Satan will be brought to sore destruction. The devil's evil scheme be come to nought. Be partaker of the fruit. May the Lord give you understanding in all things .
Study the Word to show yourself approved unto God.
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. Verily verily, the Lord hear the voice of your supplications, when we cry unto thee, when we lift up our hands toward His holy temple.
May the Lord bless God's children. Cities will be blessed and nations will be blessed! This is our duty as Christians! May every believer intercede earnestly, in the Lord. Amen!
