How to Receive the Holy Spirit

The sermon series that God has inspired me this month is about how to receive the Holy Spirit.  Above all, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is the first and most important thing, and it is the ticket to enter the Kingdom of God. Jesus said, " Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.  Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.   You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’  The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” (John 3:5-8)

Therefore, every believer needs to know how to invite the Holy Spirit to enter into his life, and the Apostle Peter gave a very good guideline for this, saying, " “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit., "(Acts 2:38)

Therefore, whosoever has confessed one's sins and received Jesus as our only Saviour, there comes the Holy Spirit naturally. Yes, he that receive Christ shall have the Holy Spirit.. “As Thou hast said, so must we do.” The Holy Spirit is given to make the presence of Jesus an abiding reality, unceasing experience in our absolute surrender to Him. We could partake of Christ Jesus disposition, and His very spirit into our being by the Master indwelling of the Holy Spirit.  Our dear Jesus is an ever present, all-pervading. The joy of intimacy and love of Jesus filling our heart, it this what we are here for? If you abide in that humble surrender and that pure faith, with assurance and as long as God lives, the Holy Spirit dwells in us forever.

Secondly, let us make confession unto the Lord , receives Jesus who manifests Himself in the meetings. God promises that He will fill His body, the church.

“Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit,  speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, “(Eph 5:18-19)

God will be with us in the meetings, and our worship and praise will never be the same. The congregation will feel God’s presence in our midst, and God will speak to us, and God will perform His miraculous signs and wonders, so that the whole group will be filled with faith and power to do God’s will and His pleasures, and to do even “the greater things”!

Third, receive the Holy Spirit into our lives. This is a lifetime commitment: the Master indwelling of the Holy Spirit walking with us, working in us, for us, and with us, bringing forth fruits in Him together. He will speak to us, He is our wonderful Counselor, He teaches us, and tells us things in the future, so that we can align with God, do His will, fulfilling His commandments, love one another, and by His zeal, we accomplish the Great Commission of Jesus, Amen!

Therefore, our faith must embrace the Holy Spirit, entrust ourselves unto the Holy Spirit with absolute surrender, and let Him do His work, and to Him be the glory, so that when the Lord Jesus returns, we will have His reward!

Amen!
