“‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness. I will bring them out from the nations and gather them from the countries, and I will bring them into their own land. I will pasture them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines and in all the settlements in the land. 14 I will tend them in a good pasture, and the mountain heights of Israel will be their grazing land. There they will lie down in good grazing land, and there they will feed in a rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. (Ezekiel 34:11-14 NIV)
God! Wonderful, great and loving Father! Let our heart and our flesh cry out for the living God. We give thanks and our lips overflow with unceasing praise for Your teachings and promises in the book of Ezekiel. You are a good Shepherd who give us life to the full. As You are, so are we in this world. We ought to love and tend the flock entrusted to us, redeemed with the love of God as a father and a mother. Give us grace that we can feed them to the full, oh Lord. . Let us not lord over them.
Please give us skill to understand Your heart, for You are love, and You will seek out the lost sheep and the lost lambs, so that we may also follow the example of Your love to feed Your lamb. Amen.
