Thanks Giving

Welcome Sunrise family and visitors today! We are so excited to worship together and share the love of Jesus today. Our family of believers here at Sunrise come before the Father every Sunday to praise Him for what he does for us. We believe that Jesus is God's one and only Son who saves us from our sin, we do invite you and encourage you to get to know Him in person in your life’s journey.

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it is often easy to overlook the simple blessings that surround us. In this month of November, we are reminded to pause, reflect, and express our gratitude to God for all His abundant goodness and grace. Let us strive to embrace gratitude as a way of life, appreciating the beauty and blessings that surround us each day. May our hearts be filled with thanksgiving that will crossover to the year of the Lord 2024.

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change." —James 1:17

"Out of them shall come songs of thanksgiving, and the voices of those who celebrate. I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will make them honored, and they shall not be small." —Jeremiah 30:19

"You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God." —2 Corinthians 9:11

Thanksgiving provides us with an opportunity to reflect on the numerous blessings that we often take for granted. It encourages us to count our blessings, both big and small, and acknowledge the goodness that God has bestowed upon us. From the gift of life and health to the love of family and friends, we are reminded to appreciate the abundance that surrounds us.

Thanksgiving is a time of gathering and sharing with loved ones. It is an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of family and friendship. Expressing gratitude to God and to those who have impacted our lives fosters deeper connections and appreciation for one another. It reminds us of the importance of community and the power of love and support.

Thanksgiving is not only about receiving blessings but also about giving back. As we recognize the abundance in our lives, we are inspired to exalt God who has made us blessed; we give back our fat offering, our best portion offering. Giving back reflects the spirit of gratitude and embodies the teachings of compassion and generosity.

In conclusion, giving thanks to God is a fundamental practice that allows us to acknowledge and appreciate the blessings we receive. By cultivating a grateful heart, engaging in prayer and worship, serving others, trusting in God's plan, finding gratitude in adversity, and living a purposeful life, we deepen our connection with the divine and experience the transformative power of gratitude in our lives.

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” —Luke 6:38
