Why do we need to bear fruit and bring forth much fruit?

1. God's original intention to create mankind

When God created mankind, it was with the objective of multiplying them through a couple between man and woman.28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”(NIV Gen 1:28)

2. Blessing for descendants of Noah after the flood to destroy other mankindAfter the flood, God desires to multiply the mankind through Noah's family.” Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. “(NIV Gen 9:1)

3.God bless the biological descendants of Abraham God choose Abraham, made his descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. “17 I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies,” (NIV) Gen 22:17

4. Jesus’commandment

Jesus used the parable of the vine and the branches to teach his disciples to bring forth much fruit.。 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. (NIV John 15:1-2)

5. It is a characteristic of those who have a soft heart.

Jesus used the parable of the sower to point out that believers who fall on good soil (meaning the heartland) are bound to multiply a hundredfold, sixtyfold, and thirtyfold.「8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.。」(NIV Mt 13:8), 「20 Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop—some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times what was sown.”。」Mark 13:28

6. Jesus' set example on Multiplication

Jesus sacrifice His life as example for multiplication and its secret in sacrifice. “Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.”John 12:24-25
