Women’s faith helps drive out demon away from her daughter. Women’s faith helps drive out demon away

“For a [certain] woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet: The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter. But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast [it] unto the dogs. And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs. And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.” (Mark 7:25-29)

Here is a woman who bowed down at Jesus' feet and asked Him to cast out an unclean spirit from her daughter. Not only did she receive Jesus as her saviour, but because of her faith, the unclean spirit was cast out from her daughter. From Jesus’ hands, healing virtue flows. Death and hell He has defeated. For all power in Heaven and earth it belongs to Him.

The story is a constant reminder, it calls to remembrance of those women in a great strait, overwhelmed with great despair, and whose hearts are smitten. They look helpless taking care for their chronically-ill children. As a result of ignorance they call for demons, evil spirits, and seeking divination, only to cause their children to suffer more pain and torment. We must declare unto them the good news of the Kingdom of God. We must pray that evil shall not cleave to them and distress caused by the devil shall not tarry in their sight.

We must beseech before the Lord for God's deliverance and healing of their children, for God's grace and mercy to open the way for them to know salvation, to be healed, and to be cut off from family curses. We need to teach them only our God can save them and will hear their voice of groaning. He regards the prayer of the destitute.

We must present our supplication before the LORD that Christians be mindful of these children, will pray for them as early as possible and bring them to God. As for Christian teachers, they need to hearken unto these students and be watchful of their needs at school. The body of Christ has to provide support for them. We can minister to them by phone. The first action we can take is to design leaflets and mobilize regular distribution of leaflets. We must preach the gospel of Jesus to the ears of all these people, that they may take the initiatives to ask for prayer request for healing. We shall hearken unto their cry.

Brothers and sisters, we must proclaim a call before the Lord: we need to beseech the Lord to expand the territory of our church to serve the community. The body of Christ can come together to minister in prayer, watch over one other in unity of Christ and in one accord!
